Wife of Former Rivers Head of Service Raises Alarm Over Husband’s Whereabouts
The wife of a former Head of Service in Rivers State, Florence Nwaeke, has expressed deep concern over the mysterious disappearance of her husband, George Nwaeke, alleging that he is being held against his will and forced to make false statements against the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara.
Speaking to journalists, a distressed Mrs. Nwaeke said she feared for her husband’s life, as she had lost all contact with him since he traveled to Abuja. She called on Nigerians and the international community to intervene and help locate her husband.
According to her, George Nwaeke had informed her upon arrival in Abuja, but she was later shocked to learn that he had granted a media interview, which she insists did not reflect his true position.
“When he got to Abuja, he called that he had landed. I said, ‘Thank God.’ The next thing I saw that night was people calling me, saying he had given an interview. I asked, ‘What interview? Interview for what?’ Not until I saw it circulating on the internet. I said, ‘That is not my husband. That is not my husband,’” she lamented.

Mrs. Nwaeke recounted her desperate attempts to reach her husband, sending multiple messages inquiring about his safety and whether he was being held under duress.
“I sent him a message. I said, ‘Are you under duress?’ I asked, ‘Have they kidnapped you? Talk to me now. Why are you not talking to me?’ These are the messages I sent to him when I saw his interview online. But he didn’t reply to me. His numbers are not going through,” she revealed.
Appealing to the public, she made an emotional plea for urgent intervention, saying, “Oh, Jesus, help me. Nigerians, help me. My husband is in trouble. My husband is in trouble.”
As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from the authorities regarding the whereabouts of George Nwaeke or the circumstances surrounding his alleged detention.
The situation continues to generate concerns, with many calling for a thorough investigation to ascertain the truth behind his disappearance
