In Lagos, the programme, which involved an airport facility tour by selected secondary school girls, took participants to the airside, control tower, fire service complex, Air Peace Airline office as well as the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON) site at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja.
There were also motivational speeches from role models in the sector like Capt. Tolu- Ita of Aero Contractors, Engr. TosinAdedoyin of the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and Mrs. Eunice Fatokun, an air traffic controller with NAMA.
Speaking at the event, the President, WAI, Nigeria Chapter, Mrs. Rejoice Ndudinachi, noted that Women in Aviation is committed to supporting and ensuring that young girls are inspired to take up careers in aviation because, according to her, experience has shown that women are more meticulous in anything they do.
