The plot accusation leveled against the immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, by his successor, Governor Ayo Fayose, is waxing stronger as Fayose alleges that “some newly appointed Supreme Court Justices were specifically, cleared by the DSS to reverse Ekiti 2014 election judgment.
It would be recalled that the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that his immediate predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, is plotting a return as the State Governor through the back-door by manipulating the Supreme Court to review its judgment of April 14, 2015, which validated the governor’s election in the June 21, 2014 governorship election.
Fayose who linked the accusation to Fayemi’s recent interview in a newspaper said “three years after Fayemi was defeated in a free, fair and transparent and one year to an election, he is still talking about “Unfinished business” on the election.
“What unfinished business does Fayemi have with an election that he lost fair and square in all the 16 local governments of the state, 168 out of 177 wards, including his home local government, Oye? Has he equally forgotten that his defeat with over 80,000 votes was the second time that I defeated an incumbent?
It was gathered that Fayemi said in a newspaper interview, said that the 2014 governorship tussle in Ekiti, which he lost to governor fayose was still ‘unfinished business..
In his reaction, Fayose said that “If Fayemi feels like coming back, it is a legitimate decision, let him do that by first getting the ticket of his political party. If APC wins one local government in Ekiti come 2018, I will concede that election.

“I was part of Fayemi’s victory in 2010, I was in exile then but spoke with teachers on phone to vote him, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu begged me at Bourdillion to work for Fayemi.
“The Supreme Court said it can’t reverse itself when Segun Oni approached it to do so.
“They will meet me in Ekiti, they should forget about hijacking Ekiti, the power of the people is greater than those of us in power. The people are on my side”.  Fayose said
Meanwhile, the former governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has approached a Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, to set aside the warrant of arrest issued against him by the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
The Assembly had earlier issued a warrant arrest on Fayemi and had through one of its resolutions called on the Inspector General of Police to give effect to the warrant  to bring Fayemi to the legislative chamber to defend himself against allegation of misappropriation of State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB) funds totaling N852 million.
The Ekiti Assembly also accused Fayemi of fraud in the award of contracts during his tenure between 2010 and 2014.
Fayemi in a suit filed by his counsel, Rafiu Balogun, said the action of the lawmakers was politically motivated.
Fayemi who demands from the Assembly the sum of N500 million as general damages said the issuance of the summons and arrest warrant has caused him embarrassment and public ridicule, having been widely circulated in the print, electronic and online media.
