18-yr-old restless after killing own mum, confesses to relatives

An 18-year old has confessed he killed his mother in the midnight of Sept 6 following a misunderstanding and cuss word hi 52-yearold mother hrled at him.

Tope Momoh’s confessed two weeks after Madam Stella was buried at Ikakumi Akoko, Ondo.

“I did not have rest of mind since my mother was buried. So, I was forced to confess that I strangled her to death. I want the court to show me mercy,” he confessed before an Akure Chief Magistrate Court.

He is facing a one-count charge of murder.

Prosecutor Nelson Akintimehin told the court how Momoh said he got angry at the word ‘bastard’ which his mother repeated while cursing him that midnight.

So the young man strangled her.

Momoh now pleads for mercy.

Akintimehin said the offence contravenes Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. II Law of Ondo State, 2006.
