2 players responsible for Man United’s 4-1 defeat
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men continued their abysmal run in the top flight as they fell to a 4-1 loss to Watford earlier today.
The excitement in the game started very early when David De Gea saved a penalty taken by Ismaila Sarr in the 11th minute.
Joshua King opened the scoring for the Hornets in the 28th minute before Sarr doubled the lead a few minutes to the end of the first half.
Manchester United pulled one back through Donny Van De Beek, however, Watford responded with two more goals scored by Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis in the dying moments of the match.
In this article, SportsBlitz.ng takes a look at 2 players responsible for the loss suffered by the Red Devils today. Check it out below:
Harry Maguire
Harry Maguire’s woes for Manchester United continued as the Englishman was sent off in the second-half following a poor tackle.
This red card made the team lose balance, thus, paving the way for Watford to score more goals.
Today’s performance was another poor one by the club’s skipper.
Performances rating: 2/10
Cristiano Ronaldo
Though many would not agree with this choice, but Cristiano Ronaldo is also to be blamed for this loss.
The Portuguese star was quite anonymous in the first half. He didn’t add anything significant to the team.
Though he gave the assist, he squandered a one-on-one with Ben Foster and also squandered other good chances.
If he had scored these goals, it could have been a different story.
