Army chase cattle rustlers, armed bandits from Maru

As the Fulani herdsmen engage in more aggression, the military on Tuesday morning at Maru village in the North West, attacked some cattle rustlers, armed banditry and other criminality decimating their camps.
The operation carried out under the auspices of Operation SHARAN DAJI, of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, in conjunction with the Nigeria Police in Zamfara State, cleared them from the village.
Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Director Army Public Relation disclosed that although most of the targeted suspected cattle rustlers and armed bandits have escaped, the joint team recovered substantial quantity of arms and ammunitions in the area.

It was learnt that the criminals escaped with gunshot wounds while the team was still combing the general area for such wounded persons.
Usman, therefore, call upon citizens of Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina and Kaduna States in particular to report any suspicious persons especially those with gunshot wounds to the military authorities or the Nigerian Police.
