FG pledges speedy completion of Birnin-Takwas road in Kebbi, delay caused by bandits
The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing has assured the road users of its commitment to fix Birnin -Yauri- Rijau- Zuru -Daki -Takwas Road in Kebbi.
The ministry said this in a statement on Tuesday, in Abuja by its Director, Press and Public Relations, Mrs Boade Akinola.
The ministry also assured the road users of its safety for the public as H & M Nigeria Limited, a Civil Engineering Company, Kau International (Nig) Ltd, and Great Northern International Construction Company were engaged to deliver the project.
Speaking, on the receipt of a report from road users that the Federal Government has abandoned the road, the Director, Highway Construction and Rehabilitation, Mr Folorunsho Esan, said that the deferral Government was working on the road.
Esan noted that though the contractors had achieved various levels of progress but had suspended activities due to challenges posed by banditry.
He, however, said with the reduction in activities of bandits in the area, all the contractors had decided to resume work on site.
He commended the understanding of the motorists over the temporary stoppage of construction works and its attendant inconveniences.
Esan assured the road users that all necessary supports would be put in place to ensure that the road was delivered on schedule.
