32-year-old man arrested for fraud; 10 ATM cards recovered
Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have apprehended a 32-year-old man at a First Bank ATM stand along Bank road in Yola North LGA while on surveillance patrol
The suspect, Joseph Nwakibe, who was arrested on 8th November 2022 is a native of Nnewi South, Anambra State and a resident of Makurdi, Benue State
According to a statement signed by the Adamawa Police spokesperson, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, the suspect was said to have been invited to Yola by his friend Obinna Ajima, now at large, for joint fraudulent activities
Investigations revealed that the suspects go around with several expired ATM cards from various banks and await their victims, they usually queue behind customers pretending to withdraw money, then they usually offer to assist anyone they perceive is having difficulties in making transactions and in the process take note of the person’s ATM pin number and smartly swap the card with the fake one in their hands
