4 Nigerian celebrities who came into limelight by leveraging on Davido’s platform
Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido was the topic of discussion on social media yesterday as he celebrated his 29th birthday in Dubai.
The singer won the hearts of many people on social media after he gave out all the millions he got from his friends to charity.
Davido has really taken philanthropy to another level, and he also used his platform in grooming young artistes like Mayorkun.
Some Nigerian celebrities who are currently doing well in their respective fields owe their success to Davido. However, in the article I’m going to talk about only 4 Nigerian celebrities who came into limelight by leveraging on Davido’s platform.
1. Peruzzi
Tobechukwu Victor Okoh popularly known as Peruzzi owe his success in the music industry to Davido. The Imo state born singer-songwriter actually acknowledged this fact when he was sending his birthday wish to Davido yesterday. In his words, he wrote:
“Happy birthday to the man who made me a millionaire. Meeting you changed my life, knowing you made me a stronger man, love you for life”
Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel popularly known as Mayorkun or the mayor of Lagos came into limelight in 2016 when he was signed to Davido’s record label, DMW.
Mayorkun owe his success in the music industry to his former boss, Davido.
3. Dremo
Dremo Drizzy as he is fondly called became one of the most sought-after Nigerian rapper after he leveraged on Davido’s DMW platform. He (Dremo) and Mayorkun was actually signed into DMW the-same day.
4. Destiny Boy
Destiny Boy is another Nigerian celebrity that came into limelight after leveraging on Davido’s platform. The teenager rose to fame after doing a Fuji remix of Davido’s classic hit song “IF” in 2017.
Destiny Boy wasn’t actually signed into DMW, but got a lot of help from the DMW boss.
