It’s almost certain that every nation of the world has in one way or the other experienced criminal attacks. Meanwhile, whether you like it or not, Nigeria has had its fair share of criminal attacks. With attacks ranging from Kidnapping to armed robbery and terrorism, the West African nation has been the epicenter of numerous criminal activities. However, these attacks didn’t just happen, as a matter of fact, they were perpetrated by some infamous criminals.

1. Derico Nwanmama:

Okwudili Ndiwe AKA Derico is a name that will forever be remembered by many who experienced his reign in the South East. The kingpin who rose from just a street urchin to the leader of a notorious armed robbery group was known for his unquenchable thirst for blood. He would rob during the day and it was no different when night comes. His operations were mostly carried out at the Onitsha market. However, after the numerous unfruitful efforts from the police to arrest Derico, it took the intervention of the Bakassi boys to bring him to book. He was later beheaded by the group, a decision which was against the wish of the police.

2. Shina Rambo:

Shina Rambo is another infamous criminal who was a torn in the flesh of Nigeria, especially the southwest. Born in 1958, the kingpin, bandit, and armed robbery was known for terrorizing the southwest during the 1990s. However, it is said that after his release from prison, Shina Rambo now preaches the gospel.

3. Lawrence Anini:

Lawrence Anini was another kingpin who rained terror on Nigeria, especially Benin city. The bandit and armed robber is still regarded as the most notorious criminal in Nigeria’s history. During the 1980s, he and his sidekick, Monday Osunbor would rob and take lives at will. However, Anini soon met his doom after he was arrested and executed by the Nigerian military.

4. Ishiola Oyenusi:

Similar to Lawrence Anini, Ishiola Oyenusi is another infamous criminal who ended up being executed by the Nigerian military. The kingpin was notorious for his robbery activities.

5. Isiaka Busari:

Isiaka Busari AKA Mighty Joe was a sidekick to Ishiola Oyenusi. But after the death of his boss, mighty Joe took charge and was said to be more deadly than his predecessor. However, just like ishiola Oyenusi his reign also came to an end and he was executed by the Nigerian military.

6. Evans:

Chukwudi Dumee Onuamadike AKA Evans is undoubtedly one of Nigeria’s most notorious criminals. He was known as a billionaire Kidnapper due to the huge amounts he gets from Kidnapping. However, he is currently undergoing trial after he was charged with numerous criminal offenses.

7. Abubakar Shekau:

Last but not least is Abubakar Shekau. The former leader of the Boko Haram group had been a huge torn in Nigeria’s Flesh due to his terrorist activities like kidnappings and killings. However, he recently died in May 2021.
