Ruth Okafor, 2 others nominated Soccer Queens NWPL Referee of week 4
The organisers of the Soccer Queens Referee of the week award have released list of three nominees for the weekly awards. The nominees include Joy Ogunboye of the Ondo State Referees Council who officiated the Edo Queens and Adamawa Queens game in Benin, Ruth Okafor of the Lagos State Referees Council who was in charge when Rivers Angels defeated Osun Babes FC at the Osogbo City stadium, and Omohan Tina of the Edo State Referees Council, being nominated for the first time, after good performance at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, where Heartland Queens defeated DreamStars Ladies by 2-0.
The weekly award sponsored by NFF first Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, is aimed at honouring Women Referees who have strong work ethics, good knowledge of the rules of the game and are positive role models. The winner will go home with N25,000.
A team of women football experts and panelists voted for the nominees based on reports gathered by assessors from various match centres.
