Tornadoes, Kwara Utd go top in Ogunjobi Gold Cup tournament
Niger Tornadoes and Kwara United recorded their first victory in the Ogunjobi Gold Cup Tourney after they defeated FC Ebedei, FC Yobo 2-0 and 2-1, respectively, at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin on Match Day 2.
National Daily gathered that the Ikon Allah boys showed FC Ebedei no mercy putting the game to bed in the first half with Musa Wakili scoring in the 15th minute, before Kabir Umar put the icing on the cake in the 41st.
Kwara Utd who beat NLO side, FC Yobo 2-1, which saw Taylor Adebayo netting a brace in the 33rd and 53rd minute while the Lagos team got its consolation goal via a penalty scored by Agbabiaka.
Results show that Ikon Allah Boys and Harmony Boys are now both on the same level with 4 points each, but the former go top of Group A with superior two goals difference over the latter.
In the other matches, Remo Stars and Wasiu Alabelewe FC dropped 2 points after they played barren draw.
the defending champion, Sunshine Stars had to come from behind to draw Cynosure 1-1 to keep chase on the Abakaliki team which tops Group B with 4 points.
