After 2 days, bodies of Ebonyi mining pit accident pulled out
After two days in a mining pit dug along the highway which their car fell into on Saturday, the body of the Ebonyi APC leader and two others, along with their car, have been pulled out.
Ogochukwu Elem and two others were pulled from the pit under the supervision of Ebonyi Gov Dave Umahi on Monday.
They were pulled from the pit with a crane supplied by the Ministry of Infrastructure and local divers on Monday.
The Volkswagen Golf car, which the victims were driving in, was also pulled out.
Umahi mourned the deaths, and was angry with the miners who dig the mining pits indiscriminately thereby endangering lives and destroying the environment.
He said his government will set up a committee to look into the issue.
