Atiku urges cooperation in fighting insecurity in Nigeria
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during a condolence visit to Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State urged political, traditional, and religious leaders to unite and cooperate in the fight against insecurity in the country. Atiku, expressing concerns over the rising insecurity in the country, appealed for collective efforts of all stakeholders to end terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other violent uprisings in the country.
Atiku, in Sokoto, condoled with Governor Tambuwal on the death of his elder brother, as well as condole with the people of Sokoto State and the northwest over the escalating insecurity in the geopolitical zone. He lamented that the protracted insecurity in northern Nigeria is regrettable, condemning the devastating terrorism in the zone.
The former vice president decried the subversion of the peace in northern Nigeria, now turned into warfare territory, which obstructs development in the region. He lamented that there are incidents communal clashes to act of terrorism and banditry.
Atiku appealed to Nigerians to intensified prayers for divine intervention to bring the terrifying security situation to an end.
