Why Barcelona are eager to capture Man United forward before transfer deadline
Barcelona had been hit with injury crisis with Ousmane Dembele set to face five weeks on the sidelines.
Sequel to the blow, the Catalan giants have set their interest in signing Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga on loan before the transfer window closes National Daily gathered.

Elanga has emerged as a possible transfer target for Barcelona
It is understood that Barca are currently debating whether to bring in a new attacking option following Memphis Depay’s move to Atletico Madrid, with Ousmane Dembele’s injury.
According to the claim by ESPN, Barcelona could also decide to bring in a central midfielder to provide cover for Sergio Busquets but should they make a new forward a priority today, Elanga will be targeted by Xavi’s side.
Elanga, who broke into the United set-up in impressive fashion last season, has found his game-time limited under Erik ten Hag this season and is said to be open to leaving on loan.
Recent reports claim United have received as many as 10 offers for the Sweden international including from Borussia Dortmund, PSV Eindhoven and Everton.
As of Monday night, United were still undecided on whether to green light a loan move with the club also still considering the short-term future of Facundo Pellistri.
Should United allow him to leave, Barcelona view him as a possible signing as they prepare for a face-off against United next month in a huge Europa League play-off contest next month.
The La Liga leaders will host the Red Devils at the Camp Nou on 16 February before the return leg at Old Trafford on 23 February.
