Bongo: Police find boxes of money at Chief of Staff’s home
Police in Gabon have found boxes of money at the home of Yann Ngoulou, the Chief of Staff to Nourredine Bongo, the eldest son of the ousted President of Gabon, Ali Bongo.
The discovery was made during a raid on Ngoulou’s home on Tuesday. Police say they found the money hidden in several rooms in the house. The total amount of money has not been disclosed, but it is believed to be in the millions of dollars.
Ngoulou has not been arrested, but he is under investigation by the police. He has denied any wrongdoing, saying that the money belongs to him and that he has the legal right to own it.
The discovery of the money has sparked a political scandal in Gabon. The opposition has accused the Bongo family of corruption, and they have called for an investigation into the source of the money.

The Bongo family has been in power in Gabon for over 50 years. Ali Bongo was president of Gabon from 2009 until he was overthrown in a coup in 2019. He is currently in exile in Morocco.
The discovery of the money at Ngoulou’s home is the latest in a series of scandals to hit the Bongo family. In 2016, the International Monetary Fund accused the Bongo family of embezzling millions of dollars from the Gabonese treasury.
The Bongo family has denied all allegations of corruption. They say that they are being targeted by their political opponents.
The investigation into the discovery of the money at Ngoulou’s home is ongoing. It is unclear what charges, if any, will be filed against Ngoulou.
