Reps orders reversal of increase in DSTV/GOTV tariff by MultiChoice
The House of Representatives on Wednesday ordered the reversal of the increase in the DStv/GOtv tariffs by MultiChoice.
The federal legislators in a motion by Umar Ajilo, argued that the prevailing economic hardship resulting from political to economic factors has made life unbearable for the citizens, with far-reaching consequences.

The lawmakers further argued that the exorbitant increase would exacerbate the sufferings of Nigerians, given the increasing pressure on household budgets, the rising cost of basic living essentials, income stagnation, and other factors.
They maintained that if the increase is not reversed, Nigeria will continue to lose revenue.
They, therefore, requested the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy to intervene, halt and reverse the increase in the DStv/GOtv tariffs by the MultiChoice Group.
The House had in an earlier resolution, penultimate week, halted the increase in electricity tariff the Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs) were planning to impose on Nigerians after the removal of subsidy on petrol by President Bola Tinubu.
