Student arrested for alleged murder, dismemberment of girlfriend in money ritual scheme
A shocking case has emerged from Delta State, Nigeria, where a 100-level student from Federal University, Lokoja, has been arrested for allegedly drugging, killing, and dismembering his girlfriend, identified as Damilola, for use in a money ritual scheme.
The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, reportedly carried out the murder in a cold-blooded pursuit of wealth, later contacting Damilola’s father to demand a ransom of N10 million.
Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the tragic incident on social media, describing it as a “disturbing display of greed and disregard for human life.”
According to police reports, the suspect is alleged to have spiked Damilola’s drink with drugs, leading to her death. He then transported her dismembered body parts to a native doctor in Ibadan, Oyo State, where they were intended for a ritual believed to produce “wealth-attracting” charms.

In a deeply disturbing twist, the suspect contacted Damilola’s grieving father demanding the ransom, despite allegedly having taken her life. “The audacity is shocking,” Edafe commented, adding that greed often leads perpetrators to irrational actions that facilitate their apprehension.
Law enforcement officials have since detained the suspect, assuring the public that all parties involved in this crime will face justice.
The Delta State Police Command has renewed its warnings against ritualistic practices, cautioning the public about the dangers of shortcuts to wealth. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing, as authorities work to uncover the full scope of this harrowing case.
