Galatasaray enlists Osimhen to persuade Lookman in ambitious summer transfer move
Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly turned to Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in a bid to strengthen their chances of signing fellow Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman during the summer transfer window.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Galatasaray are keen to secure the services of Lookman and have asked Osimhen to play an informal role in convincing his international teammate to make the move to Istanbul.
The move highlights Galatasaray’s determination to add more attacking quality to their squad as they prepare for domestic and European campaigns next season. Club officials are said to view Lookman as a key target capable of elevating the team’s attacking options.
Lookman, 28, joined Atlético Madrid in January in a transfer reportedly worth €35 million. Since arriving in Spain, the Nigerian forward has quickly established himself as one of the club’s standout performers.
His impact has been significant, with the versatile attacker contributing five goals and four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.

His performances have earned praise from supporters and analysts alike, making him an increasingly valuable asset for the Madrid-based club.
Galatasaray’s decision to seek Osimhen’s assistance underscores the difficulty of completing such a transfer.
The Turkish giants are aware that convincing Atlético Madrid to part with one of their key players so soon after his arrival will be a major challenge.
The Spanish club are already facing uncertainty within their attacking department. With the departure of Antoine Griezmann and questions surrounding the futures of Julián Álvarez and Alexander Sørloth, Atlético are believed to be reluctant to sanction another high-profile exit that could weaken their squad ahead of the new season.
For Galatasaray, however, the prospect of pairing Lookman with Osimhen could create one of the most formidable attacking combinations in Turkish football.
The club hopes the strong relationship between the two Nigerian internationals could influence Lookman’s decision should negotiations advance.
While no formal agreement has been reached, the report suggests Galatasaray are prepared to explore every possible avenue in their pursuit of the in-demand forward, setting the stage for what could become one of the most closely watched transfer stories of the summer.
