Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State on Thursday celebrated Senator Barnabas Gemade on the occasion of his 77th birthday.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, in a statement in Makurdi, cited Alia as describing Gemade as “an accomplished engineer and politician.”
The governor said that Gemade, who is the Chairman of the Benue APC Elders Forum and
former Minister of Works and ex-Chief Executive Officer of Benue Cement Company (BCC), contributed remarkably to the service of his people and the country.
He prayed to God to give the elder statesman and septuagenarian more years in good health, as he continues to offer wise counsel to the state and the nation at large.
Born on Sept. 4, 1948 in Benue State, Gemade is a chief from the Tiv ethnic group.
He holds the Tiv traditional title of Nom-I-Yange-I-Tiv.
