ANAMBRA: Gunmen target polling centres in churches, snatches boxes
Voting was disrupted on as gunmen stormed voting centres in three Catholic churches in Anambra on Saturday.
The six gunmen gutout of a unmarked vehicle at Mbonu Ejike/Basden junction, and started shooting in the air to scare security agents and voters away.
They then made straight for the ballot boxes, at least two, at the Immaculate Heart Catholic Church and the St Faith Catholic Church in Fegge, Onitsha, Anambra State.
The centre has been deserted by both the voters and security operatives.
Another set of gunmen stormed the polling unit at the Immaculate Heart Church along Ziks Avenue, snatching a ballot box.
INEC is conducting a guber election i the state on Nov. 6 amidst rising insecurity across the southeast region.
