Anambra REC still alive – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked media reports that the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Anambra State, Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji, has been assassinated.
The Commission in a statement, described the report as fake news and unfounded. The commission maintained that the Anambra REC is hale and hearty and was in his office even at the time the report was made.
The statement read:
“Dear Colleagues,
“Here’s the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Anambra State, Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji, in his office at the Commission’s State Office, Awka, Anambra State, at this very moment.
“Some fake news peddlers have been saying he’s been murdered. He is ALIVE and WELL.”
