APC Caretaker Committee fixes Jan. 25 for commencement of membership registration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) has fixed January 25 for the commencement of members registration across the country towards repositioning the party in the build up to the 2023 general elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had in October 2020 announced that the 2023 presidential election will hold in February.

The National Secretary of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), John Akpan Udoedehe, had in a statement, indicated that the CECPC has made achievements within the limit of the time approved for its responsibilities. Udoedehe then said that Committee has approved the registration and validation of APC members saying that the party will commence the process on January 25, 2021.

Udoedehe said that the Committee is prepared to conduct the APC congress at all levels through fair and transparent process of electing officials for the various organs of the party that will culminate in its National Convention.

The National Secretary disclosed that the Caretaker Committee is working to create a member-centered party structure, one that guarantees the full participation of all members and accord privileges to members’ trust. Udoedehe maintained that Caretaker Committee leadership is increasing efforts to meet the mandate given by the party in 2021. He assured all APC members that the CECPC members are committed to fashion out party structure that will promote a process of political change in Nigeria.
