APC chieftain wishes Buhari death openly; party takes action
Yola South APC Caretaker Committee Chairman Suleiman Adamu uploaded an audio praying his party leader President Muhammadu Buhari contract covid-19 in London where he went for routine medical checks.
As the audio trended on social media on August 9, the chairman denied it.
The state chapter of the APC however called an emergency meeting where the party leaders took a decision for further investigation.
In a statement by the state Caretaker Publicity Secretary, Hon Mohammed Abdullahi, the party said it had noted the audio clip, following which it called an emergency state working committee (SWC) meeting where the clip was replayed and deliberated upon.
“At the end, it was observed that some of the words in the audio clip were most unfortunate and required further investigation.
“Consequently, a seven-man disciplinary committee has been set up by the state working committee to investigate the issues in the audio clip and to make appropriate recommendations for action,” the statement said.
Buhari is expected back in Nigeria this week.
