APC wins in Niger, Benue, leads in Zamfara

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, has defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and two other rivals in Niger State.

The former Lagos State governor won in 21 out of the 25 local government areas in the state while Abubakar won in three LGAs,

The Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, won in Suleja.

The Niger State Collation Officer, Prof. Clement Allawa, who announced the election results, said the APC candidate polled 375,183 votes while his PDP rival scored 284,898 votes.

Obi got 80,452 votes while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) recorded 21,836 votes.

APC candidate also won in Benue, polling 310,468 votes to defeat the Labour Party flag bearer, Peter Obi, who garnered 308,372 votes.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, scored 130,081 votes.

The state’s Collation Officer, Prof. Farouk, who announced the election results, said the LP candidate won in 14 out of the 23 local government areas of the state.

Tinubu won in the nine remaining LGAs.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is currently ahead of his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, Atiku Abubakar, in Saturday’s election in Zamfara State.

Meanwhile, the former Lagos State governor has won in all eight local government areas so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Zamfara state.

However, no note was recorded for the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the state.
