At last, PDP wins governorship election in Enugu
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Mbah, has emerged the winner of the March 18 governorship election in Enugu State. The final result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed that Mbah had 160,895 votes, defeating the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Chijioke Edeoga, who had 157,552 votes.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uche Nnaji, had 14,575 votes to place third.
The Returning Officer, Prof Maduebibisi Ofo-Iwe, Vice Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, had declared “That Mbah Peter Ndubuisi of Peoples Democratic Party, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
