Atiku’s Running Mate: Shehu Sani reveals why Okowa emerged ahead of Nyesom Wike and Udom Emmanuel
According to a report, The Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa has been announced as Running Mate to the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku made this known at a Meeting with the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) held at the Party’s Headquarters in Abuja. It was Reported that a 17-Member Committee constituted by the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu had submitted Three Names to Atiku to choose from. However, The Former Vice-president and 2023 PDP Presidential Candidate settled for Okowa ahead of Governors Nyesom Wike of Delta State and Udom Emmanuel of Akwa-ibom State.
Reacting to the Development, An Human Rights Activist and Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the Development as he revealed why Okowa was chosen ahead of Wike. Sani who is a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described Okowa as a link between the South-East and the South-South Geo-political Zones.
The Former Governorship Aspirant in a Tweet stated that Okowa played a key role in the emergence of the Atiku Abubakar, a Former Vice-president at the PDP Presidential Primaries held last Month. It will be recalled that Okowa supported Atiku against Wike.
