Reno Omokri explains why Atiku picked Okowa to be his running mate (Video)
In his recently released video clip on his instagram handle, Reno Omokri has given the reason why the People’s Democratic Party flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, has chosen Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his vice aspirant for the 2023 Presidential election.
He started by saying that it is no longer news that the party has picked Okowa, who he said is from the same state as the vice-presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar. He said it is obvious that they are going to win.
He said that people should understand that Rivers State Governor Nyesome Wike is an excellent candidate, though he was not selected to run with Atiku. Reno emphasized that the selection of Okowa was a party decision and that what people are saying that Wike cannot pull votes from the North is a pure lie because most of the delegates that voted for him were from the North.
In determining who was to run with Atiku, Reno said the party set up a committee with the flag bearer of the party and they put their heads together and decided to choose Governor Okowa. He emphasized that Wike was not going to leave the party because of this decision. He asked whether, irrespective of who the party had chosen between Okowa and Wike, it would still have been the best decision.
While parties such as the All Progressive Congress, Labour Party, and some other parties have not chosen their Vice President aspirant, the People’s Democratic Party has shown swift action by choosing Okowa to run alongside Atiku, and Reno has confirmed that it was a party decision.
The choice of a vice president aspirant has been an issue for many political pundits and party supporters before now. The PDP has settled for a candidate, and people will anticipate the decision of the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress.
