A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos on Friday, December 30, remanded ASP Drambi Vandi in prison over the death of a pregnant lawyer, Mrs Bolanle Raheem.
The Lagos State Attorney-General, Moyosore Onigbanjo, had filed a one-count charge of murder against Vandi who shot and kiled the deceased on Christmas Day.
“That you ASP Drambi Vandi on the 25th day of December 2022, at Ajah Road, along the Lekki Expressway, Lagos, unlawfully killed one Omobolanle Raheem by shooting the deceased in the chest contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015,” the charge reads.
The defendant was arraigned before Adeola Olatunbosun, the chief magistrate, who granted the Attorney General’s request to remand him at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.
She then adjourned to January 30, 2023 to await legal advice.
