A High Court sitting in Kano State has sentenced a private schoolteacher, Abdulmalik Tanko and his accomplice, Hashim Isyaku, to death by hanging for abducting, killing and burying a five-year-old girl
Recall that the convicts were arrested in December 2021 for killing the victim, Hanifa Abubakar, who was a pupil of his school located in Dakata Quarters, Nassarawa LGA of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in a statement on January 21, 2022 had said Tanko took the victim to his house where he contacted her relatives and demanded ₦6million ransom
“On December 18 having realized that the victim could recognize him, he poisoned her to death and then buried her inside the school compound,” he said in the statement
Presiding over the case, Justice Naaba on Thursday also slammed a five-year jail term on Tanko for all the five charges labelled against him
