Carvajal: Neymar will be difficult to stop
By Boluwatife Ezekiel Olaleye
Carvajal will play no part in the first-leg UEFA Champions League fixture at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday due to suspension and Nacho Fernandez or teenager Achraf Hakimi will deputise in his absence.
And the Spain international has warned both his potential replacements that the £198m (R3,28b) world-record signing could be the difference as high-profile European fixtures are often settled by the slimmest of margins.
“I don’t know which of the two will play, they are both capable,” the 26-year-old told reporters ahead of the game. “When you play against Neymar there is no recipe to stop him, I just hope that he’s not on his game.
“There are no favourites in a duel like this. The game is very close. They are clashes that are decided by tiny details. We will try not to make mistakes.”
