Chike’s dating views spark debate following Edoho separation claims
Nigerian singer Chike has stirred fresh conversations on social media after an old interview resurfaced in which he shared his preference for dating older women.
In the interview, the vocalist explained that he is drawn to older women because of what he described as emotional maturity, clearer communication, and reduced drama compared to younger partners. According to him, maturity often brings stability, understanding, and a stronger grasp of relationship dynamics — qualities he values in his personal life.
“With maturity comes better communication and peace of mind,” he noted in the clip, which has since gone viral again across various social media platforms.
The resurfaced video has generated mixed reactions from fans and commentators. While some social media users agreed with the singer’s perspective, arguing that maturity can positively influence relationships, others questioned whether age alone determines emotional intelligence or compatibility.
Relationship commentators also weighed in, noting that personal values and individual experiences — rather than age brackets — often shape the success of romantic partnerships.

The renewed attention to the interview comes amid ongoing online speculation linking Chike to an alleged infidelity saga involving the former wife of veteran media personality Frank Edoho.
Some bloggers and social media users have connected the singer to circumstances surrounding Edoho’s reported separation from his second wife, Sandra Onyenucheya. However, the claims remain unverified.
Edoho addressed the rumours publicly, stating that he had been separated from his wife for nearly two years before the speculation surfaced. He added that he has since “made peace with it emotionally.”
As discussions continue online, neither Chike nor Sandra Onyenucheya has issued a formal statement regarding the circulating allegations.
The episode highlights how past interviews and personal comments by public figures can resurface and gain renewed attention, particularly when intertwined with ongoing social media narratives.
