Civil society mourns sudden death of Yinka Odumakin
A renowned actor in civil society in Nigeria, Comrade Yinka Odumakin, is dead. His death was revealed in the early hours of Saturday by some of his associates.
Comrade Odumakin was a human rights activist, the spokesperson of the Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-cultural group. He was in the vanguard of advocacy for restructuring of the federal system in Nigeria and a strong believer in resource control.
Comrade Princewill Akpakpan of the CDHR in a chat with this Reporter described the sudden demise of Comrade Odumakin as tragic and huge loss in the civil society community.
The cause of the death was unknown at the time of this report.
