Community Crisis: Obagie youths leader denies alleged assassination attempts

A recent community clash has sparked tensions in Edo State, with allegations of assassination attempts circulating across the localities.

Uyi Igiebor, Youth Leader of Obagie N’ Evbousa, has categorically denied any involvement in the alleged assassination attempts on Ebo Amagba, the Youth Leader of Amagba Community.

In an exclusive telephone conversation with our correspondent, Igiebor clarified that Ebo Amagba is facing consequences for his alleged attacks on buildings belonging to the Oke-oroma community.

He revealed that, some buildings at Oke Oroma was allegedly supervised and brought down by Ebo Amagba who later went on to resell the lands where those buildings were erected.

This he said may have led to a reprisal from Oke Oroma people who have had scores of issues to resolve.

Frightened residents of Oke-Oroma community in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Edo State, have fled their homes for over one year, following recurrent attacks, and horror meted on them by the neighbouring Amagba community in Oredo Local Government Area of the state.

Contrary to allegations made by Peter Owen Erhinmwinorose
also known as Ebo Amagba in a social media video, Igiebor maintained his innocence, urging those spreading falsehoods to cease.

Speaking further, Igiebor emphasized his commitment to promoting peace among surrounding communities.

in his naratives on the trending video, Peter Owen Erhinmwinorose was seen alleging that his friend had used his vehicle on the said date alongside other members of his executives when they were attacked

This development between Obagie N’ Evbousa and Ebo Amagba Community has reignited tensions.

Ebo Amagba alleged assassination attempts, was seen as calculated attenpts, blaming Uyi Igiebor,
who vehemently denies involvement, citing his focus on promoting inter-community peace.

Uyi Igiebor said, “I have nothing to gain from violence; my priority is peace among our communities.” –

Ebo Amagba’s actions have consequences; he should address his own wrongdoing to the people of Ago Emokpae also known as Oke Oroma.”

Similarly, Elders and Counsel to the
Community have also thrown their weight behind their youth chairman, describing the alligations as a grave concern urging a discrete investigations to unravel the mastermind, while promoting dialogue and peaceful resolution to the conflict.

The denial by Uyi Igiebor raises questions about the authenticity of the allegations.

As tensions escalate, it is crucial for communities to engage in constructive dialogue to prevent further violence.
