Court adjourns Badeh’s arraignment to March 7

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the arraignment of the former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, to March 7.
The former CDS was accused of diverting N3.9 billion from the accounts of the Nigerian Air force by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
It was learnt that the case could not hold as scheduled as the trial judge, Justice Abang Okon was absent in court as he was said to have travelled out of jurisdiction.
The court had earlier fixed Thursday for his appearance for Badeh to enter his plea to the 10-count charge the EFFC preferred against him.

The Adamawa state born former CDS was appointed as the Chief of Defence staff on January 16, 2014 by the former President Goodluck Jonathan.
During his tenure, some second-hand fighter helicopters were allegedly procured against the new ones moneys were appropriated for.
Badeh was replaced by General Abayomi Olonisakin on July13, 2015.
