Court remands Yahaya Bello in EFCC custody
The Federal Capital Territory High Court has set December 10 to rule on the bail application of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, who is facing charges related to a N110.4 billion fraud.
The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has scheduled December 10 for its ruling on the bail application filed by the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.
Bello, alongside two co-defendants, Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of criminal breach of trust and conspiracy related to a total of N110.4 billion.
The court, presided over by Justice Maryann Anenih, set the date after both prosecution and defense counsel presented arguments regarding the bail application.

Bello is being arraigned on fresh 16-count charges brought against him by the EFCC, which alleges financial misconduct during his tenure as governor.
In the meantime, the court has ordered that Yahaya Bello be remanded in the custody of the EFCC pending the ruling on his bail application.
