Deputy Governor motivates Bendel Insurance ahead 3SC clash
The Deputy Governor of Edo state, Comrade Philip Shuaibu and the Chairman, Edo State Sports Commission, Godwin Dudu-Orumen were both on hand as Bendel Insurance rounded off their training on Tuesday evening ahead of the make or mar NNL encounter with visiting shooting stars of Ibadan and it was a charged atmosphere as both eminent personalities took turns to address the team about the importance of an all out victory against the Oluyole Boys recently.
The training session which took place at the UNIBEN sports ground witnessed a large turn out of fans and students as everyone tried to catch a glimpse of the Deputy Governor of the state in training ahead of the Wednesday game which promises to be an history making day as the first ever NNL match to feature a sitting Deputy Governor as Comrade Philip Shuaibu looks set to feature as a striker for the Bendel Insurance team against 3SC.
National Daily learnt that the Edo State Sports Commission Chairman, Godwin Dudu-Orumen reminded the boys of the need to make the Government, the people of Edo State and themselves proud by going out for the three points at stake while the Deputy Governor also did not fail to remind the boys about the financial windfall which awaits them should they score two or more goals without conceding any in the game.
“I must also inform you that the Governor himself will be at the stands to cheer you to victory and you all know what follows every victory whenever the Governor is on hand”, Comrade Philip Shuaibu concluded followed by a large ovation by the boys and everyone else present.
