FIFA bans FA president for life
The former President of the Ghana Football Association has been banned for life by the world football governing body.
National Daily learnt that FIFA has handed a lifetime ban from all football related activities to former CAF first vice president, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi after four-month investigation by the Fifa Ethics Committee.
Mr. Nyantakyi was captured taking bribes in a video exposé dubbed #Number12 which was compiled by Ghanaian journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
He was captured on videos negotiating a deal with businessmen and accepting a bribe of $65,000 to help establish an oil business in his native country.
He has also been fined $500,000 by FIFA,National Daily gathered.
The FIFA statement reads “The adjudicatory chamber of the Independent Ethics Committee has banned Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for life from all football related activities (administration, sports or any other) at national and international level,”.
” The adjudicatory found Mr. Nyantakyi guilty of having violating article 19. (conflict of interest) article 21. (Bribery and Corruption)”
