El Kanemi Warriors shoot to the top, MFM, Enyimba draw
El Kanemi Warriors are the new leaders in Group B of the abridged NPFL after they thumped erstwhile table toppers Akwa United 4-1 at home today, while the top-of-the-table clash in Group A between MFM FC and Enyimba ended 1-1.
El Kanemi now have 25 points from 13 matches, while FC Ifeanyiubah moved to second place courtesy of a lone goal win against Plateau United.
FC Ifeanyiubah now have 24 points, a point behind leaders El Kanemi.
Kano Pillars push to the top was held back by a 2-1 loss at struggling Heartland FC.
In Group A, MFM were held to a 1-1 draw by closest rivals Enyimba.
National Daily learnt that Lagos church club MFM FC now have 23 points from 13 matches, while Enyimba remain three points adrift on 20 points.
There were also big home wins for Katsina United, Sunshine Stars, while Rivers United won by the odd goal at struggling Remo Stars.
Katsina United are now fourth on the table on 17 points.
