Elections: Immigration deploys 21,640 personnel
The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has deployed 21, 640 officers and men for the forth coming general elections across the 36 states and FCT.
Comptroller General, NIS, Isah Jere, said this in a statement on Monday in Abuja by the Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO) Mr Tony Akuneme.
Jere said the service approved the deployment of the personnel to be part of the election monitoring security apparatus of the Federal Government.
He, however, charged all the state Comptrollers to ensure strict monitoring of the elections.
This, he said, should be in their respective states especially as it concerned the non-participation of foreigners in the exercise.
