#EndSARS Anniversary: Youths storm Akure, other towns in Ondo
Thousands of youths stormed the streets of Akure and other towns in Ondo State to mark the one-year anniversary of the #EndSARS Movement in protest of police brutality in Nigeria. The youths were monitored displaying diverse placards and banners with inscriptions conveying their demand for justice for victims killed during the #EndSARS protest across the country in 2020.
The youths chanting solidarity songs, told the government to pay compensation to relatives of the protesters killed during the 2020 mass action.
The youths, however, conducted their protest peacefully, insisting that today is special for them.
At the time of this report, there was no police molestation of the one year anniversary observers, neither were there violence.
