Finally, Eden Hazard makes Premier League’s return transfer decision

Former Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard had made a club-record £103.5million switch from Stamford Bridge to Santiago Bernabeu two years ago, but the Belgian had sadly endured some moments of nightmare at the Spanish capital due to reoccurring injury crisis.

National Daily understands Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has tried to accommodate the 30-year-old while switching to 4-4-2 formation and playing the Belgian behind the main striker, but sadly, his struggles have continued thus giving rise to the circling rumours of an impending transfer.

And while recent reports have suggested that his former club Chelsea have been offered the chance to re-sign him another Premier League side Newcastle United have now been rumoured as a possible destination for the Belgium captain when the transfer window opens with Madrid believed to be prepared to cash in on the attacker.

Meanwhile, National Daily learnt that Los Blancos are believed to be making plans to offload the deadwood in their first-team squad to help them raise fund to ramp up their efforts to land one or both of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland next summer.

However, reports reaching National Daily from Marca suggest that Hazard has no intention of departing the Bernabeu as the 30-year-old is willing to be patient for his opportunities in the second half of the campaign.

The report further claimed that the out-of-favour Belgium international is aware he’s failed to live up to expectations and is more determined than even to repay the faith shown in him by the club.

Madrid would also prefer to keep hold of Hazard until the end of the season and then negotiate a potential departure next summer if his performances fail to improve.

The former Chelsea and Lille star, who is valued at around £43m, is tied into a contract with Madrid until June 2024.

Ancelotti when pressed on Hazard’s situation earlier this week had explained that he would never ‘force’ a player to stay against their will.

‘Never in my career as a coach have I forced a player to stay when they want to leave,’ the Real Madrid head coach told reporters.

‘In my own personal opinion I don’t have any doubts about that.’

Hazard has enjoyed only two substitute appearances since returning from his latest injury and will no doubt be desperate for a place in Ancelotti’s starting XI on Wednesday night when Madrid play host to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
