Firefighters battle blaze at Bono Energy terminal in Apapa
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is battling a fire outbreak at the Bono Energy Terminal located in the Coconut area of Olodi Apapa, Lagos.
The incident occurred on Friday at the energy facility situated along the Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway, prompting an emergency response from firefighters and other rescue agencies.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Shakiru Amodu, said emergency responders were actively working to contain the blaze.

“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently curbing a fire explosion at Bono Energy Terminal on Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway, by Coconut, Olodi Apapa, Lagos. Update to follow,” Amodu said in a brief statement.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had not been determined, while details regarding possible casualties or the extent of damage remained unclear.
Emergency personnel were still at the scene making efforts to bring the situation under control and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby facilities.
The incident has renewed concerns over fire safety at fuel depots, tank farms and other energy installations located within Lagos’ industrial corridors, particularly in the Apapa axis, where petroleum storage facilities are concentrated.
Authorities are expected to provide further updates as firefighting operations continue and investigations into the cause of the blaze progress.
