FWC FC settle for draw with Democratic FC after controversial red card
The 2018 FCT FA League game between FWC FC and Democratic FC ended in a stalemate after a big fight by both team.
Having defeated Shining Stars by 3-0 in the previous FCT FA League game, an opportunity by FWC FC to extend their supremacy in the group was denied as they ended the game with 10 men.
The controversial second yellow card which was handed to Godswill Okafor largely reduced the strength of the Wuye based team to having the day.
An opportunity to go ahead in the 7th minute from a free-kick was wasted by Obum Agu in the box.
Meanwhile, an offside goal scored by the Democrat FC was well sighted by the AR1 and denied to avoid what would have been a punishment to the earlier miss by Obum Agu.
However, FWC FC star player Godswill Okafor was shown the second yellow card of the game in what happened to be a controversial decision that was well protested by the team’s officials.
The second half decision of the referee on Okafor reduced the attacking strength of FWC FC with the game ending in a stalemate.
FWC FC hope to bounce back in the next game as the only target is to be the champions of the 2018 edition of the FCT FA League.
