Gov Udom Emmanuel visits Gov Wike on New Year eve
Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State on Saturday visited Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State in Port Harcourt.
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State joined Udom Emmanuel on the visit, where they held closed-door meeting with Wike for about three hours.
The visit ism not unconnected with the revolt of the five People Democratic Party (PDP) governors (PDP G5) who include Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, agitating for the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, since the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as PDP presidential
Governor Emmanuel in a media interaction after the meeting with Wike in Port Harcourt, said the visit was a brotherly one to share the love of the season, and not for politics purpose.
Emmanuel was cited to have said: “if it is politics, I would have told you I came in for politics. I came in to see my brother. Why are you asking me about the mission?
“I am in my brother’s house. This is not the first time, this is not the second time, and this is not the third time you are seeing me here.
“But I think this is the season of love. Within this period, you don’t actually demonstrate that love. Love not shown is love wasted. I think that is what we are trying to demonstrate.”
