Gov. Zulum presents 20 commissioner-nominees to Borno Assembly for screening
Gov Babagana Zulum of Borno on Tuesday presented 20 commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening and approval.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 20-member State Executive Council (SEC) was dissolved in May.
Zulum, while presenting the names of the names, explained that the list comprised three new nominees.
Zulum listed the new nominees to include Prof. Mohammed Arabi, Pogu Lawan Chibok and Ali Bunu Mustapha.
He said that 17 ex-commissioners were included in the nominees to ensure continuity in governance and consolidate on the dividends of democracy,
“They include Mustapha Gubio, Adamu Lawan, Yerima Saleh, Lawan Wakilbe, Kaka Shehu Lawan, Abacha Ngala, Isa Haladu and Sugum Mele.
“The ex-commissioner nominees had served in the Ministries of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RRR), Finance, Works, Education, Justice and Local Government and Emirate Affairs.
“Other ex-commissioner nominees comprise Zuwaira Gambo, Tijjani Goni, Babagana Malumbe, Yerima Kareto, Saina Buba and Yuguda Saleh,” Zulum said.
The former commissioners for the Ministries of Environment, Transport and Information, Buba Walama, Abubakar Tijjani and Babakura Abba Jato, were re-nominated for the new state executive council.
