Gunmen open fire on Igbo, Hausa suya sellers, kill 3
Three people were shot dead Friday Night in an attack by unidentified gunmen at Umulogho , Ehime Mbaino LGA, Imo.
Two Hausa and Igbo meat sellers were among the dead during the attack.
“This incident happened at a village, Oriagu Ehime Mbano LGA. Gunmen came there on Friday and opened fire on a Hausa man selling suya, leaving him dead with one other Igbo man who was selling suya with him.
“It breaks my heart to see this sad news. He was an Hausa man but loved by several Igbo. He has been in my village since I was small,” a source told SaharaReporters.
Imo police command’s spokesperson confirmed the incident.
“It’s confirmed, three dead. Details soonest please,” he said.
There have been attacks by gunmen in Imo in recent times.
Similar attacks hav ebben going on across the state and even the entire southeast region, most attributed to IPOB fighting for the leader Nnamdi Kanu’s release from the DSS detention.
