Gunmen raid Guinness managers home in Lagos

Daredevil armed robbers went on rampage at Oke – Odo area of Lagos state at the weekend attacking the residence of a senior manager of Guinness Nigeria PLC stealing large sum of money and carting away properties worth hundreds of thousand of Naira in the building.
The Guinness staff populary called by residents of Oke-Odo as “Guinness” resides at Aje street off pleasure bus-stop area of Oke-Odo where the thieves operated during the weekend.
National Daily gathered that the thieves numbering over 20 had stormed the building at mid hour of Saturday moving from flat to flat in the large building until got to their major target the Guinness staff who was known to be wealthy and generous among residents of the area.
Fortunately the armed robbers plot to attack the man face to face failed as him and his family members were not at home that faithful night so the robbers only break into his flat ransack the house stole the large sum of money they saw in his wardrobe meant to be used for his special project.
The thieves had a field day as they carted away all the flat screen television sets and other electronic gadgets in both the parlour and all the rooms. They did the same thing in other in all other flat and went away unchallenged.
It was further gathered by National Daily that the thieves did not stop there as they went to other nearby streets within Oke-Odo Local Council development area robbing from street to street, attacking house to house without any challenge from both the street security and the police at Oke-Odo who were expected to be patrolling the area at night.
The raid at Oke-Odo jurisdiction has prompted resident of the area to raise alarm  urging the commissioner of police Lagos (cp) Imonihim Edgal to call the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Oke-Odo to order as Policemen in the area are more interested in arresting motorcycles collecting bribe instead of embarking on raid of black spot within the area where the gangsters use as base during day time engaging in smoking Indian hemps and other drugs then move out in the night terrorizing resident of the area.
Investigation carried by National Daily, revealed that policemen at Oke-Odo have diverted in their original role of trailing and arresting suspected criminals in the area instead they are more interested in going from smoking and drinking joints every Friday collecting their own share of proceeds from sale of Indian hemps and alcoholic drinks without taking the necessary action. as at time of filing this reports none of the members of the criminal gang that unleash attack in the area has been picked up by the police.
Reacting over the issue of Lagos state police command spokes person Olarinde Famous – Cole an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) said the command is yet to be informed but with this report the divisional police officer Oke-Odo and his men will swoop into action with a view to arrest those behind the robberies in the area and also put a stop to further occurrence by strengthening security in all the street at Oke-Odo  and environs.
The new commissioner of police on assumption of office a month ago had promised residents of the state to adopt better measure in tackling crime in the state.
