High British Commissioner holds consultative meeting with PDP NWC on peaceful elections
The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, on Wednesday held a consultative meeting with members of the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja, deliberating on peaceful elections in 2023.
The High Commissioner, Liang, emphasised the need for peaceful elections; promising that the British Government will sanction any individual or group who incites electoral violence.
Leaders of political parties were, therefore, urged to ensure peaceful conducts of their supporters and members during the 2023 general election.
Several other countries, including the United States (US), have voiced out for peaceful and transparent elections in Nigeria in 2023. They have all warned against electoral violence in the country.
