Holy Insult: Bishop rejects Gov. Ayade’s N25m donation; congregation reacts
Cross Rivers Gov. Ben Ayade made a secret donation of N25 million during a church service by whispering in the ear of the presiding bishop of a church in the northern part of the state.
According to a video tending now, Ayade, whose government is still owing workers, later announced the whispered gift was on behalf the state, the entire judiciary, the chief justice of Nigeria, the first family, and the people.
It was supposed to be a divine whisper, as the MC of the service urged the clapping congregation to clap harder, and make a prayer point of it.
But the bishop then came up, got the microphone, and blew open the secret—with a stinger.
”I want to thank my amiable governor. He is my brother. We are from the same part of the state,’ he said.
“He will whisper to me later. Whatever he wants to give to me, let him put that package together and pay salaries.”
The congregation erupted in cheers.
